If there were any heartless individual in my tutorial, that guy would’ve been beaten up bad verbally. He has this rather thick-British-Australian accent while delivering his presentation. I forgive you if it’s the way you talk but you sound so fake. Here’s a check-list of why I think it’s fake. He looks pure Malay; I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a kedayan accent instead. Then, that was the first time I’ve ever heard him talk with that thick accent. Lastly, even if he used to live in the UK for a great number of years, there’s no need to bring back the accent if you can’t sound it properly. That was the most agonizing moment throughout the lesson as I have to divert my thinking so that I wouldn’t laugh, and so I started counting sheep in my head. Almost 90% of the class has this I-wanna-laugh-but-I-can’t smile drawn on their faces including the lecturer himself who was beside me. We were being extremely polite. It doesn’t end there, that guy kept on looking at my row during me Q&A session with his thick accent still alive. “hav I mayd mioyself cle-ar ohn this prsssentashion? an-nie quoes-tionz yuw wanna ars?” Translated in simple English as “have I made myself clear on this presentation? Any questions you wanna ask?” And stop looking at me or I’ll ask you “are you from the Great Britain as well brotha?” **with my thick-fake-Scottish accent** Maybe he was curious to why I’m smiling most of the time that made him look at me, or am I just too irresistible not to be looked at? Haha. On the other hand, I did really bad for my test earlier this afternoon, I think. Policy implementation doesn’t seem to work well with me.
