This blog has been well neglected and over the past few days I've terribly sick that I puked everytime after any meal that I took, and that brought me to the local clinic nearby. I was amazed by how a pharmacist compared medicines and belacan just so the lady would take her meds and go home.

Pharmacist: kita mahu ubat brand X? Masa ani kami ada brand Y saja, tapi sama pulang ubatnya ni.
Lady: Ohhh inda apa apa kah tu mun ku makan pasal aku biasa brand X.
Pharmacist: inda eh, mcm belacan bah, belacan jerudong, belacan tutong, last last sama jua belacan nya.
Lady: maksud ku nada allergic reactions kah kalau ku makan yg brand Y ani pasal ia baru arah ku.
Pharmacist: ohh atu kurang pasti tah ku tu, cuba kita tanya doktor.

Hahah this I totally overheard it correctly as he was speaking directly to the microphone connected to the intercom and I couldn't stop laughing after that. Anyway, life has been hectic with work but in between those workloads, I did manage to catch a weekend break to Orchard Road last weekend. It was a triple thumbs up weekend getaway.

A few days ago I was scheduled to have an appointment with an officer working in the public sector and this was roughly how the dialogue goes:

Officer: kalau kita dapat, datang hari khamis 2.30pm di office.
Me: minta maaf, 2.30pm inda ku dapat pasal ada lecture, kalau pukul 4 dapat?
Officer: atu payah sikit tu, kan mengambil anak ku di ugama lagi pukul 3.30pm.
Me: kalau hari ani karang patang? (I was on the phone on a Wednesday morning)
Officer: patang karang pun inda jua ku belaku tu, pasal anak ku khatam di ugama iatah I have to attend.
Me: bah thursday morning tah, ok?
Officer: atu pun inda jua ku belaku, ada function jua kan di attend.
Me: bah bilatah dapat mun kita sibuk saja?
Officer: since kita inda dapat hari khamis 2.30, why not Saturday? But mesti morning tu 8am. ok?
Me: bah manasaja tah, Saturday tah saja.

okay, that kind of annoyed me when he made it as if I was the one who's unable to fit into all the empty time slots he has. I bet these kind of people work only between 8-10am and 2.30-3.30pm. But then again, it's the norm here with most of the government servants. How is it that they advice their kids not to escape from classes when they themselves escape from work, and even worse, they are paid. If only they are caught red handed escaping by my beloved King :) bohhh kana punish nii huhu

The memory of our time together will always be remembered. Being in a class of seven, not having you around makes a huge difference. The dangling of your multiple key-chains is always a sign that you're running late for class, and you would calmly open the door like it's nobody's business when you're fifteen minutes late. Tuesdays for this semester would be the day where we have a 4 hour gap in between lectures and you would voluntarily offer to drive in search for food. Next week (13/10) will be the day where we're supposed to present our topic on poverty for the Economic Development course and I can't help but to think of you every time I try working on it. The absence of you in the common room could be felt even though there's a crowd in it. You would usually have your choice of music played on your itunes throughout the day and everyone would fight for your computer to play your games. When an impromptu plan to go out is made, you would shout out "tungguuuuu akuuuu" while you take your own sweet time shutting down your laptop and packing up all the attached hardwares which roughly took you about 10 minutes to have it all ready and set. All that I miss, and above all I miss you for the cheerful days you've always brought in for everyone around you. The lame jokes, oh I will definitely remember it.
