The wait is over. The hardwork has paid off. Today marks another success on our poverty project calendar as it was the official handover of sponsorship by BIBD. The next stage of our project which is to hand out donations to the less fortunate families in Brunei could now proceed given all the resources required are readily available at this very moment.

On behalf of the poverty project team, I would like to thank BIBD for their contribution and their support. May all the charity effort contributed by both parties be blessed by Allah SWT. Amin.

Eight trips after my first post on the poverty project, Alhamdulillah the last trip to the 100th house was made on March 16th. Throughout this period, we have gone through villages that we have never heard before and journeys that took us more than 30 minutes to reach from the main road. Called the rural areas, it really does depict like one. There is little development in those areas and households depend on labour intensive jobs to survive or simply to opt for growing their own crops.

An added bonus to us was exploring poverty in Temburong, which took us one whole day of driving through the inner rural areas of Temburong. Comparing poverty here and there, it's one hundred times magnified over there whereby poverty could be easily seen unlike the ones we have in the urban areas.

Alhamdulillah, we were sponsored by BIBD and also the student affairs section of UBD. This is another leap of success showing that we were strongly supported on this eventhough it was just on a small scale basis. Nevertheless, the donations made by them would in a way help the less fortunate families in Brunei. It's the little things that we do which could have a big impact on other people's lives.

So far, the team is having a short break from all the hardwork that we have put in. Scheduled on the April 21st is our public presentation to the whole university and we will be working very hard on it soon enough after everyone has recuperated from their state of exhaustion.
